Diabetes Association of Atlanta

The Diabetes Association of Atlanta, Inc. (DAA) was founded by Mrs. Ernest (Louise) Williams in 1952 as an all-volunteer support group for the parents of children with diabetes. Under the guidance of Dr. Christopher McLoughlin, the group expanded to include adults and interested physicians and was incorporated in 1953.Through the years, DAA has grown and emerged to be a full service agency committed to alleviating the medical, financial, and psychological impact that diabetes has on individuals and their families. DAA is one of the few nonprofit agencies in Atlanta that addresses the needs of people affected with diabetes through screening, quality comprehensive self-management education courses and medical assistance.
